Zee Tamil will begin Pongal celebrations early by airing the award show ‘Zee Kudumba Viruthugal’ on January 14th, Saturday starting at 6:30 pm.
On Pongal, which is on January 15th and 16th, the channel will air special shows including Pattimandram, Namma Ooru Pongal, The Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Pongal Special Episode, and World Television Premiere of movies like Coffee with Kaadhal and Kaari.
The 4th edition of the award show will recognize the contributions of actors, directors, producers, creative teams, and technicians who have played a role in the success of the Zee Family. The show will have various award categories such as Best Fiction Show, Best Non-Fiction Show, Best Actor, Best Actress and more, which will be decided by jury scores. There will also be audience-choice awards that have been decided by audience votes through an extensive missed call campaign. The show will feature dance performances by actors and lead pairs of serials. Viewers can watch the Red-Carpet part of the show at 5:30 pm and the main event at 6:30 pm on January 14th and 16th.
The Tamil GEC is planning a lineup of special shows for the first day of Pongal, January 15th, 2023. The day will begin with a special episode of the popular debate show Pattimandram at 9 AM, moderated by Suki Sivam. The show will feature prominent speakers discussing the topic of “Traditions of Tamilians – is it reduced or growing?” This will be followed by a fun-filled traditional Pongal celebration show called Namma Ooru Pongal at 10:30 AM. At 12:30 PM, there will be a television premiere of the light-hearted family drama film Coffee with Kaadhal. The afternoon will continue with the airing of an action-drama film called Yaanai at 3:30 PM and Pongal celebrations will end with a special episode of the singing competition show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa at 7 PM featuring performances from contestants.
On Monday, January 16th, 2023, Zee Tamil will air another special episode of the show Pattimandram at 9 AM, moderated by Suki Sivam, in which speakers will discuss the topic “Is Farmer’s Day celebrating their happiness or just another festival?” This will be followed by the television premiere of the film Captain at 10:30 AM. The story is about a team of soldiers led by Captain Vetriselvan who takes on a secret mission that leads them into a restricted forest.
At 1 PM, there will be the television premiere of the children’s fantasy film My Dear Bootham starring Prabhu Deva. The story is about a genie who tries to solve troubles with his magic powers. In the afternoon, there will be the television premiere of the film Kaari at 3:30 PM, which tells the story of how the lives of a race jockey, a millionaire, and a village girl are changed forever when fate brings them together.
