Amala, who plays the female lead in the serial, Kalyani, has said that she is excited about the marriage episodes. “Chembarathi has completed 500 episodes and now the audiences have pinned their hopes around Anand and Kalyani’s union. They have been long waiting for that. The upcoming wedding episode is the most important part of the Chembarathi serial for me”, said Amala.

The popular serial Chembarathi that airs every weekday in ZEE Keralam at 7 PM tells the story of a poor village girl, Kalyani and her survival at the home of Akhilandeshwari; a rich, strong-willed lady. Kalyani and Akhilandeswari’s son, Anand are in love. Working in his home as an employee to their business, Kalyani endures many ordeals to make run their course of love smoothly. The serial has been praised for the acting prowess of the female lead Amala Gireesh. Stebin Jacob plays the role of Anand and dancer-turned-actress Tara Kalyan plays Akhilandeshwari.
