Kochi: Chembarathi, the popular serial in ZEE Keralam has achieved another milestone. The serial is completing its 500th episode this week and the channel has come up with a unique way of celebrating it by running a Q&A contest among its viewers. ZEE Keralam has said that they are running a Saree Contest to commemorate the 500th episode mark of Chembarathi. From 17th to 21st of August, questions will be asked during the intervals of Chembarathi telecast at 7:00 PM in the evening. Viewers have to answer it correctly and the selected 100 among them will win a Saree each. The saree will in the same styling as the royal collection of sarees worn by the character Akilandeshwari.
The popular serial Chembarathi telecasted every weekday in ZEE Keralam at 7:00 PM tells the story of a poor village girl, Kalyani and her survival at the home of Akhilandeshwari; a rich, strong-willed and stubborn woman. Kalyani and Akhilandeswari’s son, Anand are in love. A domestic help at his home, Kalyani had to endure many ordeals to make run their course of love smooth. The serial has been praised for the acting prowess of the female lead AmalaGireeshan. Stebin Jacob plays the role of Anand and dancer-turned-actress Tara Kalyan plays Akhilandeshwari.
Within a few episodes, Tara Kalyan has gained the trust and liking of the audience. “I have a very long friendship with Dr. S Janardhanan Sir and when he called me up to do the role of Akhilandeshwari, I was totally unaware of how big the project was. Only after the initial few days of shooting I came to know about the Chembarathi family and the big-size of the project. The team had instilled in me the right confidence and it helped me to move forward. I am happy that people are talking good about my role and I pray to all to take the serial to the next level and support us”, said Tara Kalyan.
To Amala, Chembarathi and the character Kalyani brought critical as well as popular acclaim. “I am lucky enough to be playing the role of Kalyani as it offers enough space for me to perform. I thank the audience for their kind support in taking Chembarathi this far. I hope the support will be there all the way”.
Stebin too is having his dream-run in Chembarathi in the role of Anand. He is elated that Chembarathi is running past the 500th episode mark. He thanked the love of the people who he had never seen along with the blessings of his parents, teachers, and many others.
