Bangalore: Zee Kannada takes-off on a high note with the beginning of the year to celebrate the auspicious Makar Sankranti in rural Karnataka.
As part of its celebrations, Zee Kannada Kutumba will spend an entire day in a village, going back to the roots to honour the Sankranti festivities with the families of Mangala, a villageclose to Mandaya in Karnataka on 14th January 2018.
Zee Kannada’s favourite jodis get together to entertain the vilages and channel’s viewers across the world on the auspicious day. Celebrity jodis from Zee Kannada namely, Jodihakki, Subbalakshmi Samsara, Yaare Nee Mohini, Vidya Vinayaka, Nagini and Brahmagantu, would spend their day participating invarious cultural programmes and traditional games for the community, adding to the celebrations of the state festival.
Arva, famously known as Gowdru of Shreeman Shrimti and Apartment Gowdru from Dance Karnataka Dance Family War Season 2, along with Nayana from Comedy Kiladigalu season 1, will host the action-packed day, providing ultimate entertainment to the people of Mandaya.

As part of the joyous celebrations of Sankranti, Zee Kannada adds to the entertainment by hosting a preeminent traditional event across villages of Hassan, Chamarajanagara, Shivamogga, and Tumkur. Villagers from these towns would be invited to give tribute and participate with much enthusiasm by decorating their cows in the most innovative manner, and an award for the most contemporary design would be given in appreciation of their efforts. The aim of the event is to acknowledge the cattle for all its offerings on the festive day.
