Mumbai: Leading global content company, ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) today announced that it will hold the first edition of the ‘ZEE Entertainment Leadership Awards’ on July 13, 2017 in the United States of America (USA). The event will take place on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C and will be attended by the country’s eminent senators and congressmen. ZEE Entertainment will honor Mr. Ajit Pai, Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) as the first recipient of the Leadership Award. He will be felicitated by Mr. Amit Goenka, CEO – International Broadcast Business, ZEEL.

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is the apex Government body that oversees all electronic and digital communication in the United States. The FCC is the equivalent of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) in India with the Chairman of the FCC equivalent to the Minister of Information & Broadcasting.
Mr. Ajit Pai, the very first Indian-American to head the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), was appointed Chairman by President Donald J. Trump in January 2017. He had previously served as Commissioner at the FCC, appointed by then-President Barack Obama and confirmed unanimously by the United States Senate in May 2012. He graduated with honors Harvard University in 1994 and the University of Chicago Law School in 1997, where he was an editor of the University of Chicago Law Review and won the Thomas R. Mulroy Prize.
