Dor traces the story of two women with contrasting personalities: Meera (Ayesha Takia) and Zeenat (Gul Panag). While Meera is content living her life abiding by the traditional Rajput customs, Zeenat is a fiercely independent woman who lives life on her own terms. Both women, though, have one commonality – their husbands work in Saudi Arabia where they live as roommates.
As fate would have it, Meera’s world comes crashing down when she hears of her husband’s murder. In a flash, she becomes a widow condemned to a peripheral existence. The twist comes when Zeenat’s husband is charged with Meera’s husband’s murder and is sentenced to death. With Meera’s forgiveness being the only way he will be spared, Zeenat embarks on a mission to find Meera and beseech her to save her husband. On her voyage, she meets Behrupiya (Shreyas Talpade) who helps her. She treks through the deserts of Rajasthan to find the only person who can save the life of the man she loves.
Will Zeenat find Meera? And will Meera find it in her heart to forgive Zeenat’s husband?
