Mumbai: Zee Café, general English entertainment channel in India, is set to bring the dance extravaganza ‘World of Dance’ Season 1 to Indian screens where diverse groups of world’s best dancers will fight it out for the coveted title. Regarded as the Olympics of Dance, the reality show is judged and Executive produced by the dancing diva and songstress Jennifer Lopez. Premiering 30th July, World of Dance will air weeknights at 9.
World of Dance brings the world’s elite dancers together to compete in epic battles of artistry, precision and athleticism giving them the biggest platform to showcase their talents. Joining Jennifer Lopez on the judges’ panel are celebrated choreographer Derek Hough and the multi-talented Ne- Yo. Together they embark on a fascinating journey as they mentor some of the finest dancers who bring their passions alive by showcasing the most complex and visually stunning performances. The show also presents the opportunity to the winner to receive a life-altering grand prize of $1 million.
Hosted by the renowned actor and a flawless dancer herself – Jenna Dewan,‘World Of Dance’ follows a fresh format wherein the contestants are chosen from various qualifying events and online submissions. They are judged basis – performance, technique, choreography, creativity and presentation. Finally, only the ones who qualify the initial four rounds get to battle it out in the World Finals. While in the initial rounds, dancers only compete within their division, in the World Final, the winners from each division compete against each other for the grand prize.
With the launch of World of Dance, Zee Café further strengthens its reality content band Nine@9 after bringing shows like The Chefs’ Line and American Idol to the Indian audiences. With Jennifer Lopez at its helm and established dancers from across the world competing on one stage, will be a big one.
On Friendship Day, the channel brings special programming marathon of the latest season of The Big Bang Theory (Season 11) on August 5thfrom 8 am to 8 p.m, its 12 hours, 24 episodes. Viewers will also witness the premiere of another dance reality show as the channel brings Got to Dance S3, weeknights at 9 starting from August 13, 2018.
