ZED & CCTV-9 are launching the coproduction of WILD TREASURE OF CHINA, an ambitious 5×52’ wildlife series.
Shot into the great wild spaces in China, the series will focus on the rare species that slowly inhabit these infinite untamed wildernesses again.
With a budget of €3M, it will capture behaviors rarely seen until now. Shot in 4K, as close as possible to this secret wildlife, this series will celebrate the splendor of nature, to alert to its fragility.
ZED’s team will be able to enter inaccessible wild areas, rarely open to foreigners shooting teams before.
The first episode, directed by Frédéric Larrey, will focus on the snow leopard. It will be delivered in February 2020, after 3 years of shooting. This episode has already been pre-sold to France Télévisions, The Smithonian Channel, National Geographic Wild and NDR. The four other episodes will be completed in 2021, and will focus on other China’s iconic animals, such as the Siberian tiger, the Tibetan blue bear, the Tibetan antelope, and the giant panda
