The event was held on Sunday, June 20, over Zoom from 8 am to 6:30 pm IST. The festival was directly aligned with the theme- “Get Better Together”, which was an effort to encourage participants to participate in wholesome self-healing activities like focused yoga exercises, guided meditation practices, and other natural healing methods.
The event was flagged off by Dr. HR Nagendra, PM Modi’s Yoga Guru. Sri M, Sister Shivani, Father Joe, Dr. Khader Vali, Eddie Stern, Rakesh Chaurasia, Rishi Khubchandani, and Bambi Mathur headed their respective segments. This full-day event offered a holistic experience where participants got an opportunity to learn yoga and meditation, received uplifting advice in the field of emotional and mental health, received practical nutrition and wellness tips required in healing from covid. The sessions were curated for people of all age groups to offer them a wholesome experience.
Being Yoga 2.0 was a charitable, not-for-profit event, and all proceeds from the festival were donated to various organizations that are doing exceptional work in Covid aid.
“The country faced a lot of loss and troubles this year with the devastating effects of the second wave of COVID. Being Yoga was our effort to help people be a part of a community that helps them heal and feel positive in times as such. I hope with this event, we were able to engage people with yoga sessions and talks to help them build immunity, take care of their mental well-being and motivate them to take up to a healthier lifestyle,” said Ira Trivedi, Founder of Yog Love.
