On the occasion of Chennai’s 383rd birthday, Yamaha Motor India, along with the GCC- Greater Chennai Corporation and NGO Bhumi, conducted a beach cleaning drive under the campaign titled ‘Save the Blue Ocean’ on August 21st at Elliot’s Beach, Besant Nagar.
The special event witnessed huge participation from Yamaha Riders, volunteers, and the public from across the city. Over 1000 people joined this massive cleaning drive on Sunday.
Eishin Chihana, Chairman of Yamaha Motor India Group, who was present at the event, thanked the Greater Chennai Corporation, Yamaha Riders, young volunteers and Chennaiites for being a part of the special initiative. He appealed to everyone to keep our city and ocean clean. He also assured that Yamaha will continue to organize such activities under The Call of the Blue brand campaign to create awareness among the youth on environment protection and sustainability.
Sneha.D, IAS, RDC South, Greater Chennai Corporation flagged off the event at 6.30 am. Mirchi RJs Archana, Joe, and Siva Sankari were part of the team that swung into action to clean the beach.
During the event, 20 corporation workers were also felicitated by Eishin Chihana and Mirchi RJs, thanking them for their commitment to keep the Chennai city neat and clean.
