At the Press Conference today with Mark Read, CEO WPP and CVL Srinivas, Country Manager India, WPP.
Mark Read took over as CEO in 2018, and at his first Press Conference in India said, “India is the fifth largest market for WPP in terms of revenue, where he spoke about the company’s latest developments and strategy. He also mentioned that India has been a tech leader and has an important role. We have seen strong growth in the world and India has been a standout market. He started off by saying that WPP wants to put creativity at the heart of its business and our view is this notion of creativity powered by technology, creativity, what makes them special, it’s our secret sauce which differentiates us.“
He reiterated the fact that WPP is focused in making the company more client-centric and having integrated country operations and a global campus, now with the campus, our clients can see how they can access all of the skills and talents not just metaphorically under one roof but literally and I think the possibilities for collaboration, for ways of working, much more agile and efficient.
Reed when talking about the culture and purpose of WPP said, “Purpose is critical to WPP, our culture is open, optimistic and extraordinary in terms of the people we have. Overall WPP has an open and collaborative culture. When you work with us you know about purpose more than other places.”
Reed also highlighted how the company is focused on the need to curb the use of plastic. “By the end of 2020, WPP will be a no-plastic company,” he said. “Our people are very passionate about these topics.”
CVL talked about the various initiatives by WPP in India, Driving Creative Transformation, on the Strategy for growth he said, “our focus would be on client centricity, capability building with Data & technology, talent and culture also sustainability and social impact”
