Chennai: WPP has announced a significant investment in India, its fifth-largest market, with the opening of a new state-of-the-art campus in Chennai. This new facility is part of the company’s broader strategy to enhance its presence in India, one of its fastest-growing regions.
With a workforce of over 11,000, India serves as a dual growth engine for WPP, housing some of the company’s top-performing agency teams and key global support functions. The Enterprise Technology team is the first to move into the new campus, with additional teams expected to follow in the coming months. WPP plans to continue to scale its presence in India, one of its fastest growing markets, by adding campuses in Bangalore and Coimbatore over the next few years.
The Chennai campus, located at RMZ One Paramount, marks WPP’s third in India, joining existing offices in Mumbai and Gurgaon. Designed to foster collaboration and innovation, the campus is a central part of WPP’s commitment to providing flexible, inspiring workspaces. By integrating talent, technology, and cutting-edge facilities, the campus aims to support employees’ career growth and deliver outstanding results for clients.
CVL Srinivas, WPP’s Country Manager for India, said: “The scalability of our operations and expertise of our team in India makes it the prime location to power WPP’s global support functions, including the WPP Enterprise Technology team. WPP’s commitment to India through our investment in a new Chennai campus, with further campuses in Bangalore and Coimbatore on the near horizon, ensures the market will remain a significant growth driver for WPP.”
Mark Read, CEO of WPP, said: “India continues to be one of our fastest-growing markets thanks to its technological innovation, creative output and specialist skillsets. WPP is committed to investing in India through our new campuses, creating spaces that foster collaboration, inspire creativity and enable career development. In doing so, we are opening up new opportunities for our people in India and supporting our clients’ growth ambitions – both domestically, in the world’s most populous nation, and abroad.”
At 62,000 square feet, the Chennai campus will initially accommodate 330 employees, with plans for expansion to 650 people by mid-2025. The facility features a range of amenities, including a food marketplace, EV charging stations, a daycare center, and permanent art installations. Employees will also have access to wellness spaces, including a futsal court, running track, and yoga deck.
In line with WPP’s sustainability goals, the campus has been built with green materials and is LEED Platinum certified, reflecting its commitment to environmental responsibility. The RMZ One Paramount building also incorporates greywater recycling, on-site electricity generation, and regenerative architecture.
