It’s hard to watch the news without getting depressed. Be it the #AnjaliCase, #AirIndia, #RishabhPant or further out the tech stock scene in the US, it’s getting tougher and tougher to stay in the positive zone. The internet bubble could well be a blessing in disguise, given what’s playing out on news channels.
#AirIndia
It’s terribly unfortunate and embarrassing if you’re an Air India fan (like I am), but one has seen all sorts of news on the airline in the past so this is just a mild shocker. It ticks all the boxes if it was a campaign to malign Air India and scuttle its rise. Two similar incidents in quick succession is too much negative publicity. In both cases, it was men urinating on women co-passengers. Even for a fan, the airline’s guilt in trying to let it slide is unforgivable.

#RishabhPant
An unfortunate accident and a miraculous escape, followed by loads of wishes from fans and wellwishers and some advice from Kapil Paaji about getting a driver. The fans’ prayers should see the smashing wicket-keeper batsman back soon.

#Pathaan
Countdown to the trailer, countdown to the release date. The Pathaan fever is palpable even as the #BoycottBollywood calls continue sans steam. There is an extravaganza awaiting South movie fans with #Varisu and #Thunivu releasing around Pongal and #Okkadu that hit screens a week prior. #Pathaan in South regional languages may not enjoy the same footfalls as the local stars’ films but the Hindi version has enough going for it to rock the nation.

#SaniaMirza
A star who inspired a lot of Indian girls to pick up the tennis racquet will hang hers soon, retiring from the professional circuit after a tournament in Dubai in February. Here’s wishing her the very best for life beyond the courts; with gratitude for putting the nation on the WTA map. The last Tweet on the trend by a news channel is featured here to underline the desperation of media entities to cash in using every trick in the book. By hook or by crook, as they say. Let’s just celebrate the star, shall we?
India's trailblazer and former doubles No.1 Sania Mirza is set to retire at next month's Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships.
"I turned pro in 2003. Priorities change, and now my priority is not to push my body to the limit every single day.”
