One more ban has been sought, this one on another Bollywood movie. The ban call now extends to “Bollywood” and anything that comes from it!
Adlander Ramki has an idea to make the most of the #Boycott trends. A hilarious one at that.
Here's my plan.
1. Produce an objectionable movie.
2. Name it Boycott to confuse the Boycott lobby
3. #BoycottBoycott will sound like a cheer. Like Sachin Sachin.
4. #ISupportBoycott will be befuddle everyone.
5. Sing all the way to the bank.— Ramki (@ramkid) August 31, 2022

Suryakumar Yadav may have made the headlines with his batting but there was another player who got attention for a very personal reason. Kinchit Shah’s proposal travelled on social media. And yes, she said yes.

And it’s Teachers Day! BSF has embarked on a school outreach programme along the border, sensitising young minds in over 1,300 schools. Catch them young, as they say.

If you thought what was happening in Sri Lanka and Pakistan were aberrations, think again. Haiti, Bangladesh, Lebanon, Germany… the full list of countries facing protests is much longer. Taking everyone along might not be a priority today. But as some suggest, it perhaps will be sooner than we think.

And then there was Mikhail Gorbachev, with us no more. Remembered very differently by different people. Very fondly by Pizza Hut, we are sure. #RIPGorbachev,
Mikhail Gorbachev helped to bring an end to the Cold War and changed the world for the better.
May he rest in peace. pic.twitter.com/iXOwhgaRwu

Gorbachev died. His legacy? Russia's GDP dropped by 40%. Real wages halved. Poverty ballooned from 2.2 million in 1987-88 to 66 million in 1993-95. Millions died under the brutal regime of privatization and shock therapy. Half a million women were trafficked into sexual slavery. pic.twitter.com/2GSvSqFlQ2

This Mikhail Gorbachev Pizza Hut commercial is what historians will someday say marked the real end of the cold war and is a masterpiece. pic.twitter.com/CJhZybXVdK

In a sign of the times, Nigeria announced that it is banning non-Nigerian models and VO artistes in advertising on its media. Local pride or promoting talent? Perhaps a mix of both. Also reported incorrectly as a ban on white models and British talent, which will nevertheless reportedly take the biggest hit.

Last but not the least, as the INS Vikrant was commissioned, the new ensign of the Indian Navy was unveiled.
The new Naval Ensign unveiled by @PMOIndia Shri @narendramodi on #02Sep 22, during the glorious occasion of commissioning of #INSVikrant, first indigenously built Indian Aircraft Carrier & thus, an apt day for heralding the change of ensign.
