New Delhi: After the successful launch of its inaugural brand campaign #LetsMeetInAStory, Wattpad and Times Bridge partner with Indiatimes Lifestyle Network to create a new chapter for writers across India with #StoryCollective.
#StoryCollective, a social-first sub-brand on Indiatimes and iDiva, is a community for the modern Indian reader who loves and appreciates great longform content. Wattpad, Times Bridge, and Indiatimes Lifestyle Network will bring incredible Wattpad stories to new audiences across India via the #StoryCollective on the Indiatimes and iDiva websites. #StoryCollective aims to discover and curate stories that matter to Gen Z, showcasing why Wattpad is a leader in webnovels, and the platform where millions of indie authors are making money and building a global fanbase.
Whether it’s genres like romance and teen fiction, or space to explore important topics like LGBTQIA+ representation, Wattpad has given writers a safe and judgment-free zone to express themselves. With COVID-19 and the lockdown that followed, more indie authors have put the digital “pen to paper”, sharing their voices and stories with millions of people on Wattpad.
Speaking at the campaign launch, Devashish Sharma, Country Head, India – Wattpad said, “The partnership between Wattpad and Times Group has been incredible,” he said. “With so many of us isolated from our friends and family this past year, reading and writing has become more important than ever — especially for Gen Z. The #StoryCollective campaign aims to encourage people to keep reading stories that inspire and excite them, and it wouldn’t be possible without Times Group”
“The true power of storytelling lies in bringing people together, and Wattpad is leading the way in building a global community of passionate readers and writers,” said Viral Jani, SVP – Times Bridge. “Home to a community of 90 million people worldwide and more than one billion uploads, Wattpad is a social storytelling network that brings diverse storytellers together through creativity. We’re excited to bring this campaign to life, highlighting the power of Wattpad in India and around the world.”
Angad Bhatia – CEO, Indiatimes Lifestyle Network added. “Creating a community around modern stories and their storytellers is a natural content progression for Indiatimes and iDiva. Stories on Millennial and GenZ topics like romance, relatable teen content and LGBTQIA+ are huge interest areas for us. We sense an opportunity to build out this sub-brand in collaboration with Wattpad and give more reasons to read to our collective audience of 65mn+ monthly average users.”
