Mumbai: WATConsult, the digital and social media agency from Dentsu Aegis Network India, shines at Ad Stars 2018 as the only Indian digital agency, out of 4 Indian agencies, to get a metal home. The agency’s campaign #Powerlessqueen won a Crystal Award under the category ‘PR – Celebrity Endorsement’.
Ad Stars, the South Korean award show recorded over 20,000 entries from 55 countries out of which there were 369 Indian entries out of which 58 got shortlisted and 23 won and we were one among them.
Well, this is their third international recognition this year after a Grand Prix at Prague International festival and a shortlist at Cannes lions. The campaign, designed for Project Nanhi Kali, was crafted with an aim to highlight the plight of Indian women in different way. The agency created world’s first digital version of chess wherein one player had to play with a Powerless Queen, i.e. a queen who couldn’t move while the other player has a powerful queen. Queen being the most powerful piece on the chessboard, #PowerlessQueen was a metaphor for how real-life queens i.e. women in India are treated and rendered powerless.
