Mumbai: Warner Bros. Discovery has announced an extensive content slate for its streaming service discovery+ and linear channels, emphasizing Indian originals. The company plans to significantly enhance programming on Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, and TLC, delivering over 3,000 hours of fresh content designed to engage viewers by the end of the year.
A highlight of the lineup is the revamped DTamil channel, set to feature Hollywood blockbusters and series dubbed in Tamil, positioning it as a premier destination for Tamil-speaking audiences.
An internal study by Warner Bros. Discovery, conducted through Ormax Media, identified key trends in the non-fiction genre, highlighting interests in national pride, cultural preservation, and viewer demand for credibility in media. This insight positions the company to meet evolving viewer needs with its reputation for high-quality factual content.
The first major release under the India Originals banner is “Secrets of the Buddha Relics,” hosted by Manoj Bajpayee, exploring the final days of Gautam Buddha. Additionally, the recently launched “Reality Ranis of the Jungle,” hosted by Varun Sood, follows twelve reality stars in an adventurous off-grid experience.

Upcoming shows include “Mystery Hunters,” hosted by Rannvijay Singha, and the anticipated second season of “Star vs. Food Survival,” featuring celebrities like Kartik Aaryan and Shikhar Dhawan. The sequel to the hit “Legends of The Ramayana” titled “Legends of Shiva” will premiere in early 2025, alongside a renewed second season of “Cult.”
Discovery+ will also feature compelling programming such as “Chris Brown: A History of Violence” and “Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking,” while the Discovery Channel plans to launch new series including “Jesus: Refugee” and “Expedition Unknown Season 9.”
Animal Planet and TLC will debut over 100 hours of new content, including year-end specials and festive programming. Meanwhile, Discovery Science will explore medical science with titles like “Dr. Pimple Popper,” and Investigation Discovery will delve into relationship crimes.
