Mumbai: To mark the launch of Legends of Shiva with Amish on Discovery Channel India and discovery+, Warner Bros. Discovery collaborated with ting and ting studios to bring mythology to life through art.
In partnership with the Aravani Art Project – a collective of transgender and non-binary artists – a striking Ardhanarishwara mural was painted on a Mumbai billboard.
At Warner Bros. Discovery, they believe identity transcends gender. Inspired by Legends of Shiva with Amish, our collaboration with the Aravani Art Project celebrated self-expression and inclusion through art. The Ardhanarishwara mural symbolized Shiva’s balance of masculine and feminine energies, sparking conversations on visibility and acceptance.
ting and ting studios documented its creation in a digital film, amplifying its message of empowerment and inclusivity.
Janhavi Vyas, Head Of Marketing – South Asia, Warner bros. Discovery commented, “In a world brimming with diversity, we often hear that India is a country of many India’s within it. This resonates deeply when we think of Lord Shiva – the perfect embodiment of contrast and harmony. He is both a householder and a recluse, a union of masculine and feminine energies. Shiva truly represents everyone, transcending all boundaries.
As marketers, we execute numerous campaigns, but this one is different. It goes beyond business – it is a step toward inclusion, recognition, and the celebration of diversity. This partnership reflects not just WBD’s values but also WBD’s commitment to creating a more inclusive and supportive world, where everyone’s voice is heard and valued. Grateful to be a part of something so meaningful.”
Speaking on this, Sudharshan Anandkumar, Partner, ting commented, “At ting, we thrive on crafting narratives that go beyond promotion and spark conversations. Partnering with Warner Bros. Discovery for Legends of Shiva with Amish allowed us to bring mythology to life in a way that connects with today’s world. The Ardhanarishwara mural, created by the Aravani Art Project, became more than just art, it became a symbol of identity, balance, and inclusivity. Through our digital film, we aimed to amplify this powerful story, proving that mythology isn’t just history, it’s a living, breathing dialogue that continues to inspire.”
More than just show promotion, this collaboration amplified unheard voices, highlighting the inclusivity and enduring relevance of Shiva’s teachings and proving that mythology remains a living, breathing part of today’s world.
