Chennai: “ENTHAI”, a 7-minute short film, produced by Vinisha Vision, a leading advertising agency in the city, and released today to commemorate Father’s Day, highlights how fathers in rural households play a key role in raising kids with ethnic foods of medicinal properties and in boosting their immune systems that are, incidentally, being stressed as the only available protection against infections such as Covid-19.
The film urges the youth to recognize and cherish the contributions of their fathers to their lives, and emphasizes that there can never be a greater time than the lockdown period to celebrate and honor fatherhood, when fathers stay at home. It appeals to the youth not to hold back their love and gratitude for their fathers – as it is never too early to express love. For, one never knows when it will be too late.
Commenting about the documentary, Mr. K. V. Kathiravan, Managing Director, Vinisha Vision Advertisement Agency, said that “The film features a farmer’s family in a rural setting, and offers a realistic glimpse into the trials and tribulations of fathers of middle-class families in meeting the educational, health and other needs of their children, while striving their best to keep the families afloat.
He said that the short film underscores the fact that usually children do not tend to show their emotions toward their fathers as they do so freely with their mothers. “In most households especially in India, it so happens that the children get their needs satisfied and wants fulfilled only through their mothers. As a result, the hard work and sacrifices of their fathers behind those comforts are not easily understood. By the time the children realise them, their fathers may not be around. Hence, “ENTHAI” tries to deepen the understanding of the children about the life and times of their fathers and urges them not to miss a single opportunity to bond with them.”
