Chennai : Tamil Nadu is synonymous with its rich literary work and the Fiction writings of many authors in Tamil, from Kalki to Sujatha stand out. However not all the great work has been consumed in their original form nor in their adapted version on screen. Vijay TV in their small way is trying to bridge that gap with Vijay Chithiram short films series.
This seven part Vijay Chithiram short films series is the first of its attempt to translate such great work onto Television with the production values that will be on par with that of cinema.
Vijay Chithiram presents little Big movies on television and Vijay TV has produced Seven great stories in Seven riveting movies and the short films will be aired every Saturdays at 3:00 PM starting from 8th August 2015.
The titled of Vijay TV’s short film series Vijay Chithiram that will be aired during the first season are Bayamma , Irandam Aatam, Mari, Thavalaik Kannan, Ganesh Vasanth, Antha Oru Nimidam, Panchapakesan Devasagayam.
The following are the concepts of Vijay Chithiram short films series:
1) Bayamma – Bayamma is the story of a devout muslim mother who is caught between her principles in life and her daughter’s impending marriage.
2) Aatam – The middle aged crises which grips this household as the wife struggles to keep the husband real and grounded.
3) Mari – Mari a story of trial and tribulations that the orphan teenage school girl faces in School and in Society.
4) Thavalaik Kannan – The twisted tale of the friendship which 2 classmates share One a Politician and a MLA another his secretary.
5) Ganesh Vasanth – The popular detectives Ganesh and Vasanth come to life on television from write Sujatha’s famous novel of the same name.
6) Antha Oru Nimidam – A spine chilling crime thriller about the psychopath who is on the run.
7) Panchapakesan Devasagayam – The quirky panchapakesan Devasagayam solves the recurring murders in the Coffee estates of Ooty.
