Kevin Vaz, who joined Viacom18 as CEO after his exit from Disney Star in April 2023, has revealed that he will be leading the TV offerings and the digital businesses of Viacom 18’s regional networks.
The former President and Head of Network Entertainment channels at Star India said so in a LinkedIn update.
At Star India Vaz, Vaz was instrumental in restructuring the offerings in Telugu (Star Maa), Bangla (Star Jalsa) and Marathi (Star Pravah) and driving the GECs in the respective languages towards leadership positions. In Tamil (Star Vijay), the network saw gain in market share with the launch of Bigg Boss Tamil.
Vaz joined Star in 1996 and soon became the youngest ad sales lead. In 2018, Under the leadership of Uday Shankar, he was elevated as CEO and he was assigned with the task of leading the regional channels portfolio across Maharashtra, Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Andhra & Telangana, Kerala and Karnataka.
Vaz began his career with The Times of India Group (BCCL) in 1992.
