Viacom International has inked a multi-year Nickelodeon content deal with LeEco, one of the biggest internet VOD platforms in China.
The deal gives Le Eco exclusive broadcast rights for Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards from the U.S., to LeEco VIP in China the first time the show will air in China, starting from 2016. It also gives the platform exclusive OTT rights for selected Mandarin-dubbed and subtitled Nickelodeon episodes.
Mark Whitehead, executive vice president and managing director, Viacom International Media Networks Asia, said China remains a strategic market for Viacom and the partnership will reinforce its place as a key media content provider in the country.
Zhao Zhang, CEO of Le Vision Pictures, president of Eco Entertainment Business Group, said: “We are elated to be the first to bring the iconic Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards and welcome their well-established content into China through our platform.”

LeEco VIP currently has more than 10 million Chinese viewers who access its content via multiple platforms.
