Mumbai: A telecom operator Vi has announced a new partnership with Sun NXT, an OTT platform, enhancing its regional content offerings. This collaboration will provide subscribers access to a vast library of South Indian blockbuster movies, exclusive series, TV shows, and LIVE TV across seven languages: Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Marathi, and Hindi.
As part of this partnership, Sun NXT’s premium content is now included at no additional cost in the Vi Movies & TV Plus and Lite subscription plans, priced at ₹248 and ₹154 per month, respectively. Subscribers will benefit from significant savings on multiple OTT subscriptions while enjoying a seamless experience without the hassle of managing individual payments for each platform. In addition to Sun NXT, Vi Movies & TV offers access to top OTT services including Disney+ Hotstar, SonyLIV, ZEE5, and ManoramaMax.
A recent FICCI-EY study highlighted the growing importance of regional content, reporting that regional OTT content volume accounted for 52% compared to 48% for Hindi content in 2023. Vi aims to cater to this demand by providing premium regional OTT offerings to its diverse customer base, thus helping platforms connect with a larger audience.
The Vi Movies & TV portfolio is designed to meet varied user preferences, featuring Klikk for Bengali content, Chaupal for Punjabi, ManoramaMAX for Malayalam, and Nammaflix for Kannada. With the addition of Sun NXT, Vi users can now explore a rich selection of regional films and shows, including popular titles such as Rajnikanth’s Annaatthe, Vijay’s Beast, Dhanush’s Thiruchitrambalam, and Ravi Teja’s Eagle. Subscribers will also have access to acclaimed TV shows like Kayal, Singapenne, Radha, Nandini ka Pratishod, and Sant Gajanan in six different languages.
This strategic partnership not only enhances the Vi Movies & TV experience but also positions Vi as a leader in providing top-quality regional entertainment, all accessible through one app and one subscription.
