Jyoti Malhotra, a seasoned journalist with over three decades of experience, has been appointed as the new editor-in-chief of the Chandigarh-based Tribune Group, becoming the first woman to lead the 143-year-old publication.
She brings extensive experience in print, television, and digital media, having held senior positions at India Today, The Indian Express, Star News, and ThePrint. Malhotra will take over from Rajesh Ramachandran on May 14th, bringing her expertise in current affairs, particularly in South Asia, to her new role.
Jyoti Malhotra’s extensive reporting career includes in-depth coverage of Pakistan, spanning from the Kargil conflict in 1999 to the SAARC summit in 2004. Notably, she covered the historic meeting between Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Pakistan’s President Pervez Musharraf during the summit. Her insights and analysis have provided valuable perspectives on India-Pakistan relations over the years.
