Mumbai: upGrad, one of Asia’s leading integrated learning and workforce development companies, has appointed Amit Mehta as its Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective October 8, 2024.
Amit joins upGrad after a successful tenure at Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), where he held various HR leadership roles. In his new position, he will enhance upGrad’s global people strategy, focusing on organizational effectiveness, talent development, and performance management. His expertise will be crucial in fostering a culture of innovation and inclusion as the company enters its next growth phase.
Previously, Amit led the HR function for HUL’s Home Care division and served as the Talent & Organization Director for Unilever’s South Asia markets. During his five years at HUL, he advanced initiatives to reinforce the company as an Employer of Choice and led efforts in Leadership Development and People Analytics. His extensive experience includes HR Business Partnership for Sales & Marketing, strategic advisory roles, and developing people strategies for markets in India, Sri Lanka, and Europe, equipping him to drive talent growth and organizational excellence at upGrad.
Amit holds an MBA in HR from XLRI Jamshedpur and a B.Tech in Information Technology from VJTI Mumbai.
