Mumbai: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on Wednesday, formally launched Times Now Navbharat SD (in Standard Definition), the Hindi news channel of the Times Network. The SD version of the channel was launched at the Times Now Summit 2021 in New Delhi. The channel will go live from Jan 1st 2022.
Wishing the Times Group success in its future endeavours. Shah said, “It’s a new beginning. So, congratulations to the entire Times Group. Times Group has a glorious history in journalism. I wish them (Times Network) all the best and hope it will achieve greater heights.”
Announcing the launch MK Anand, MD & CEO Times Network said, “After retaining No. 1 position in English news with Times Now, we launched our first Hindi news channel Times Now Navbharat HD in August followed by Hindi business news channel ET Now Swadesh in October. Both the channels are doing well. Now in January, Times Now Navbharat will be launched in SD version which will make it available to the masses across India.”
In his welcome address, MK Anand, MD and CEO, pointed out Times Network’s pivotal role in shaping opinion among the Indian masses and influencers and reiterated the group’s commitment towards nation-building and developing a comprehensive action plan for India’s future.
He highlighted the group’s journey in launching the Hindi news channel and said that the next 25 years will provide India with tantalising opportunities.
“For over a decade and a half, Times Network has pioneered efforts in developing informed opinion amongst India’s influencers and has proudly been at the forefront of every landmark in the growth of the nation in these crucial years. Our first offering and India’s leading English news channel, Times Now, may have been your port of call through some of the most defining moments in recent memory,” he said.
It may be noted that Times Now Navbharat channel was launched in High Definition (HD) format on 1st August 2021 and the latest addition marks the launch of its SD version.
