Park Jea-sang (Psy) the South Korean pop star and his music video Gangnam Style has become the first video of you tube to be watched more than two billion times
The song mocks a fashion-conscious group who live in the affluent Gangnam district of Seoul, but is most well-known for its distinctive dance in the video. The dance, which became a worldwide craze, was invented by Psy. It involves crossing the wrists and imitating riding a horse. No other video on the website site has come close to achieving the same number of views.
The American pop star Justin Bieber’s music video Baby is one of the video achieved more than 1.4 billion views and with 711 million views “Charlie bit my finger” was the second popular video.
The copyright owner of a YouTube upload gets half of the money generated through advertisements which appear beside video. Psy’s Gangnam Style video has been viewed by many public figures and the Chinese dissident artist Ai Weiwei is one among them.
