Hyderabad: Followed by the TDSAT’s stringent order on TV9 case and tactical advise of Solicitor General of India , the Telangana government is left with no other option than loosening its grip over the MSO as they have to avoid facing the wrath of the courts in the form of contempt of court and the MSOs on the other side wanted to save their business interest rather than appeasing the ruling state government.
TV9 has tasted the success in its long battle against the illegal blocking of signals, as the two leading MSOs in Hyderabad City Hathway and Siti Cable resumed the transmission of Signals of the No. 1 Telugu news channel after a brief period of block out for 6 months.
According to the sources, the MSO Hathway had issued an advertisement on Eenadu Paper on 4th November, notifying the public on resuming the signals of TV9 as per the order of TDSAT and apparently started the transmission on same day by 8:30PM.
Siti Cable the other major MSO in Hyderabad city also issued notification in Andhra Jyothi news paper on 5th November and reinstated the signals of TV9 by 7:30PM.
However, Sourced from the market confirm that still 53 odd MSO spread across the rest of Telangana state haven’t adhered to the order and continue to be in blocking mode.
While the Telangana government is likely to file the affidavit by tomorrow afternoon (7th November) on assuring a complete removal of ban, still the government haven’t persuaded the MSOs in Telangana to restoring the signals of TV9.
Meanwhile, The ban on ABN Andhra Jyothy, however, is still continuing in entire Telangana and their reporters held a sit-in at the Media Point of the Assembly on Wednesday morning, demanding the immediate lift of blockade on their channel.
TV9’s verdict is likely to make the job easy of Andhra Jyothy as they can also seek remedy in similar fashion by approaching the TDSAT in no matter of time.
