Chupke Chupke premieres on 8th May and will air every Monday – Friday at 6:30 pm on &TV
Mumbai: The cultural and family bond in the society doesn’t allow many to choose their own partner or decide whether to or not marry at all. Exploring this tradition of marriage and its sanctity with a twist is &TV’s upcoming show Chupke Chupke. The light hearted romantic story will see two young career-oriented individuals – Meera and Abhishek, trying to run away from the institution of marriage but eventually end up in one on their own terms and conditions… making it a marriage of convenience! But will they find love whilst faking a relationship? Starring the handsome Mohit Malhotra and the beautiful Prithvi Hatte in lead roles, the show is slated to go on air fromMay 08, Monday to Friday at 6:30pm only on &TV.
Abhishek, aka Abhi is software engineer, who nurtures a dream to settle in USA. However, his family holds him back with the impending question of marriage. He is a perfect combination of a handsome guy who can charm with his wit. On the other hand, Meera who is very well educated working professional, has been raised by her father single handedly with a lot of independence. She is artistic, dynamic and has carved her own path in the field of Advertising. Her father’s futile attempts to set her up with prospective grooms have now started getting on her nerves. While both Meera and Abhi are poles apart, it’s safe to say that they both have found a love interest towards their respective jobs! However, with one thing common between the two – love for their respective careers, can Abhi and Meera turn out to be a good match?
Said actor Mohit Malhotra, who essays the character of Abhi “Initially I was hesitant in taking up shows on television and was focusing on Bollywood until I got an offer from &TV’s Chupke Chupke. The show with the concept of a contract marriage is so well written that I was convinced about being a part of this show. I feel I will be able to do justice to my character Abhishek. I have a lot of friends and family who are extremely career oriented and for whom marriage is not a priority. But they are feeling the pressure from their near and dear ones and society at large. Given a scenario like this, a contract marriage doesn’t seem like a bad idea at all… it’s a marriage that comes with an expiry date which is mutually agreed upon. Saves the heartbreak. I am hopeful that the audience will like our attempt at bringing forth an interesting concept like this.”
Added Prithvi Hatte, who portrays Meera’s character “Marriage is a sacred institution and I do completely believe in it. But in the changing times there is a need to make yourself secure. Infact I would like to think that a contract marriage is like an insurance policy, nobody wishes for things to go wrong but it never hurts to have a cover.”
Produced by Indian Magic Eye, the stellar star cast of the show includes Tanaaz Irani, Krunal Pandit, Farida Dadee, Micky Makhija, Major Bikhramjeet, Rajiv Bharadwaj and many more.
