Mumbai: After completing over 13 years of service at Omnicom Media Group, Torie Henderson will step down from her role as CEO of Omnicom Media Group Southeast Asia and India.
Having worked with the Group’s agencies across APAC markets, starting with the OMD regional team in Hong Kong back in 2006, Henderson has played a significant role in the growth of the organisation and its people. Over the years, she has been instrumental in establishing the Group’s Diversity & Inclusion agenda, developed and shaped local businesses and client relationships, and nurtured an exceptionally strong leadership team for its agencies in Southeast Asia and India. In addition, she has played a pivotal role championing emerging talent within the industry as Mentor and Chairperson of MediaWorks.
Reflecting on her time with Omnicom Media Group, Henderson comments: “When I joined OMD back in 2006, the formative years were one of the highlights of my career. The chemistry and energy of our team, as well as our ‘sleeves rolled-up’ and very hands-on approach is what allowed us to develop stronger client relationships and position the agency to win. But the most significant highlight has been watching so many gifted people grow; I am grateful that I have had the chance to play a role in helping contribute to so many growth journeys.
“I’ve been working in this industry for three decades, and have seen massive change in the business and the landscape, which has brought a multitude of fascinating challenges and developments with it. Helping shape some of our most important relationships and develop people has been the part that I loved the most about this job, and they will be what I miss the most.”
Tony Harradine, CEO of Omnicom Media Group APAC, says: “It is with sadness that we bid farewell to such a significant personality within our organisation, and are grateful to Torie for all of her contributions to the Group over the past 13 years.
“One of the tasks that Torie was given when she took on the role of CEO for Southeast Asia and India in 2017, was to groom our agencies’ leadership across markets. Thanks to her passion and commitment to nurturing her team, we now have a strength in the form of local-market leadership who are more than capable of standing on their own feet and guiding our agencies towards further growth and success.”
