Paris-based Research Company Evaluating Media Agencies (RECMA), in its latest 2016 qualitative rankings list has named GroupM/WPP as the agency network having the largest billing figure in India. The network comprises of Mindshare, Maxus, Initiative, Mediacom and MEC in India.
Mindshare saw a rise by 42% to register a billing of $1884 million in 2015, while Maxus’ billing in the year was $886 million in 2015, 24% growth from 2014. Initiative registered a 46% growth to get $714 million billing in 2015. Mediacom grew by 26% to register billings of $713 million. MEC, meanwhile, with a 42% growth registered billing of $690 million.
Great performance by the GroupM media agencies makes it the leader in the industry in terms of billings. Overall, GroupM witnessed a growth of 35% from 2014 to get a billing of $ 4558 million in the 2015.
The second ranked media group IPG Mediabrands grew by 27% in 2015. The media agency group clocked billings of $1530 million in the year 2015. The third ranked media agency Madison Media grew from $844 million in 2014 to $944 in 2015 (12% growth). It was followed by Publicis Media which grew by 33% to register billings of $ 840 million in 2015.
At No. 5 is Omnicom Media Group which registered a 26% growth to record $818 million of billing in 2015. Dentsu Aegies Network, though had the highest growth 76%, settled at No.6 with billings of $597 million. Havas Media Group with 22% growth got the billings of $538 million in 2015 and was ranked at No. 7.
RECMA’s report is the only third party report that that evaluates digital and media agencies worldwide and is widely trusted by the agencies in the country.
