New Delhi : FremantleMedia, the production company which produces the reality show India’s Got Talent, after the successful completion of the first season of CEO’s Got Talent at Mumbai during 1st week of March, It recently conducted its second edition at New Delhi. The event raised the bar further on the level of competition. The charity event considered as a great uniter, was also the cause of giving children a chance to live. The event was televised and likely to be aired on CNBC TV 18 which happen to be the broadcast partner of the 1st season at Mumbai.
Ten leaders from business and public sector organisations showcasing their talents outside the boardroom. Three discerning judges, carefully weighing each performance against a benchmark set high. One amazing cause uniting the entire set of participants, judges, audience and everyone connected. This is FremantleMedia’s CEO’s Got Talent, with Genesis Foundation as the beneficiary.
CEO’s Got Talent is a property created by FremantleMedia within the ‘Got Talent’ franchise to give business leaders a chance to showcase their talent and creativity. Held on November 15 in New Delhi, this was the second edition of this event, the first being held earlier in the year in Mumbai. In both editions, the level of talent and the seriousness with which both, the participants and the judges, treated the competition, resulted in a thrilling contest. The sheer variety of talent that CEOs came with was eye-opening. Singers and dancers were popular, of course, but there was also a flautist, a saxophonist, a standup comedian, a photographer, a poet and more.
What made the event even more interesting, to everyone involved including the sponsors, was that the proceeds were going towards a heart warming cause, life-saving and life-changing treatment for underprivileged children suffering from critical illness.
The beneficiary of the event, Genesis Foundation, has facilitated the treatment of over 500 children suffering from serious illnesses like cancer, heart disorders, thalassemia, organ failure and severe deformities. So while the thought of indulging their talent at such a high level is enough to motivate these business leaders, the underlying cause makes the event even more appealing to them. Besides the proceeds, the Foundation also raised funds in both editions through an auction of an artwork donated by a renowned artist. This time’s artwork was donated by Satish Gupta, who epitomises multi-facetedness, which this event celebrates. He is a painter, sculptor, poet, writer, printmaker, skilled draftsman, muralist, designer, calligrapher and ceramicist.
As in the previous edition, the event was judged by stalwarts from the entertainment world—Mahesh Bhatt, Neha Dhupia and Raj Nayak. Amidst applauds, encores and standing ovations, Amar Raj Singh, Owner, Gamma Pizzakraft Pvt Ltd, India and Sri Lanka, who enthralled the audience with his poetry, was declared the winner. A close second was Muktesh Chander, Special Commissioner in Delhi Police, whose mesmerising flute inspired the audience to also vote him the ‘WOW Performer’ of the evening. Amit Tandon, Managing Director and CEO, Empyrean Partners tickled the audience and the judges with his standup act and won the second runner-up position.
With the promise of a third edition in Bangalore, the event came to a close, leaving everyone with one thought in mind—surrounded by the stresses of everyday life, especially when an entire organisation depends on you, it is your passion, your talent, your life outside your work environment and your contribution to society that keeps you grounded and gives you joy.
