By bagging 1 gold, 2 silver, 4 bronze and finishing 48th in the total medal tally- the Indians at Olympics did a stellar performance of all times in the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
While the Indian participants at Tokyo were giving the best performance of their careers, the viewers back in India were glued to the Television screens cheering for the participants.
According to the data by Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC), the Olympics opening week clocked 69 million viewers and 5.8 billion viewing minutes.
When it comes to the top regions contributing to the Olympics viewership, Assam and North East region contributed 27.7 percent of the viewership followed by Maharsahtra and Goa with 11.5 percent of viewership.
Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry made a contribution of 8.8 percent. Uttar Pradesh Uttrakhand contributed to 6.3 percent viewership and Kerala contributed to 5.8 percent viewership, according to BARC.
