The Foundry, a production company and IP content development studio, has signed an agreement with Audible, an Amazon-owned provider of original spoken-word entertainment and audiobooks. The deal includes the licensing of over 60 hours of content produced by The Foundry to Audible, including original multi-cast fiction and adapted and dramatized classic stories in audio format.
A number of titles from this agreement, created by The Foundry’s audio division, have already premiered on Audible’s platform, with more to be released in the coming months. These include Hindi adaptations of Arthur Conan Doyle’s “The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes” and Munshi Premchand’s “Karmabhoomi,” as well as an upcoming Hindi adaptation of Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice.”
The Foundry will also be licensing to Audible original series created by their Creator-in-Chief Vekeana Dhillon, selected from their in-house development catalogue of over 90 audio IPs. This includes “Trapped,” a drama about the rescue efforts following an urban high-rise building collapse, and “The Woman in Bed#3,” a mystery thriller involving a coma patient. The Foundry has previously produced the popular audioshow “Uncovidable,” which tells the story of a woman navigating the Covid-19 pandemic, for Audible.
