Chennai: The Federal, India’s rapidly growing digital news platform, is proud to announce that it has crossed a significant milestone of 1 crore (10 million) page views per month as of October 2024. This achievement comes after five years of dedicated journalism and the strategic expansion of the platform’s reach across multiple states. In a highly competitive and crowded digital media landscape, reaching this landmark is a testament to the credibility and trust The Federal has built with its diverse audience.
Since its launch in March 2019, The Federal’s English edition has been providing insightful, balanced, and in-depth news to its growing readership. Over the past 11 months, the platform expanded its reach with state-specific editions, offering news in multiple languages and regional perspectives. The Federal now boasts editions catering to Telangana, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Delhi, in Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
“We began this journey 11 months back, and launched state-wise editions one-by-one, with the latest being The Federal Desh in Hindi, in May 2024,” said NC Rajamani, CEO of New Gen Media Pvt Ltd, the publisher of The Federal. “The overwhelming response we’ve received reaffirms the relevance of our approach to serve diverse audiences with content that resonates with them.”
The response from readers has been nothing short of overwhelming. S Srinivasan, Editor-in-Chief of The Federal, expressed his gratitude: “This milestone is a recognition of the trust our audience places in us. It reflects our commitment to remaining bipartisan and staying true to our editorial values, particularly at a time when media outlets are often divided along political lines. We focus on delivering news that is factual, fair, and unbiased.”
As part of its ongoing expansion plans, The Federal is looking to launch more regional editions in different languages to reach an even broader audience across India. The platform is also investing in newer technologies to enhance user experience and offer additional value to its readers.
At the heart of The Federal’s content strategy lies its focus on ground reports and long-form journalism, which have become increasingly rare in today’s fast-paced digital media environment. “We strive to produce stories that go beyond headlines and offer our audience deep, insightful reporting that truly matters,” said Srinivasan.
“We will continue to bring our audience the kind of journalism that goes the extra mile, with investigative pieces and narratives that provide a deeper understanding of the issues that shape our society,” added Rajamani. “One crore readership is just the beginning. We have many more milestones to achieve, and we hope our audience will continue to support us as we grow.”
