Mumbai: Star Plus has recently launched the Indian version of TED Talk titled TED Talk India Nayi Soch and roped in Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan to host it with his characteristic wit and charm.
A research was carried out by Chrome Data and Analytics Media, the media company with an intent to understand the perception of the general public about TED Talk India Nayi Soch and it has revealed that only 35% of the respondents were aware of TED Talk India while its Original international format TED had a much better awareness level of 45%.
The study also unraveled the fact that awareness and recall level of the Promos of TED Talk India Nayi Soch with just 24% of the respondents saying that they have watched the promos while the majority of (76%) revealed the fact that they haven’t watched the Promos of the program TED Talk India Nayi Soch that being aired on Star Plus.
Similar Study conducted for Porus launch on Sony TV recently revealed that 61% of the respondents of the study were aware of the Promo of Porus and 82% of them were able to recall that the show is being aired on Sony Entertainment Television.
On the other hand 84% of the respondents were able to recall the Star Plus Network and 62% of them recall the program TED Talk Nayi Soch.
The survey was conducted in six metropolitan cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Pune and Bangalore among 1,157 respondents between an age group of 18 – 35+ of age group. The survey constituted 46% of females and 54% of males.
In terms of Medium of awareness among people who are aware of the show TED Talk Nayi Soch- 84% of the people recollected that they were aware of the program through promos, 9% of the respondents got awareness through word of mouth and 5% of the respondents recall through social media. While a whopping 92% of the respondents were able to recall the host Shahrukh Khan.
Ted Talk is an initiative which primarily focuses on throwing light on the social issues of the country in order to resolve them. A TED talk is a video created from a presentation at the main TED (technology, entertainment, design) conference or one of its many satellite events around the world.
The study also revels that Promos ratings of various TVC aired by the channel has scored less than 20% recall with a highest Promo ratings of 3.93 points.
