Mumbai: Dentsu Group has promoted Takeshi Sano, CEO of Dentsu Japan, to the role of Deputy Global Chief Operating Officer (COO). Sano, who assumed leadership of Dentsu Japan in 2024, brings over three decades of expertise within the company to his new global role.
Sano shared the news of his promotion via LinkedIn, stating: “I would like to share my appointment to the position of Deputy Global COO.”
Having joined Dentsu Inc. in 1992, Sano has had an illustrious career marked by strategic leadership and transformative contributions. He advanced through the ranks within the Business Produce divisions, becoming Managing Director in 2017. In 2021, he was appointed Executive Officer of Dentsu Inc., further solidifying his influence within the organization.
By 2022, Sano had taken on multiple critical roles, including Executive Officer overseeing Business Transformation (BX) services, Digital Transformation (DX) Consulting services, and serving as Growth Officer at Dentsu Japan Network. Additionally, he held the position of Senior Executive Officer in charge of the Business Produce divisions at Dentsu Inc.
In his new capacity as Deputy Global COO, Sano is expected to leverage his extensive experience to drive growth and operational excellence across Dentsu’s global network. His elevation underscores the organization’s commitment to nurturing leadership talent and advancing its global strategic priorities.
