Swiggy launches Match Day Mania; Delights cricket fans with longest and largest food festival this IPL season

Bengaluru: Swiggy, food ordering and delivery platform, launched the ‘Swiggy Match Day Mania’, a 51-day long festival, celebrating the cricket fever that has gripped the nation. Match Day Mania currently boasts of participation from over 12,000 restaurants across 12 cities in India, including national chains like Pizza Hut, Burger King, and more. Swiggy has also tied up with a host of famous local favorites like Faasos, Behrouz and Naturals Ice Cream to serve delicacies with some specially-crafted deals for consumers.

Swiggy believes that Match Day Mania will be the perfect companion for consumers, as it perks up their evenings for cricket fans all over the nation, as they become glued to their TV sets. The food festival will go live every weekday at 7PM and will be a day-long affair on weekends.

Srivats TS, VP Marketing at Swiggy said “Just like popcorn and soft drinks are a perfect match for an evening at the movie theater, we want to provide cricket fans with their favorite food options as they settle down every evening to support their favorite cricket teams. The IPL season has generally seen significant growth in demand. We believe Match Day Mania will only take this to the next level“.

Swiggy aims to deliver piping hot food to cricket fans as the IPL fever reaches its crescendo and is offering attractive discounts of 50% off on Pizza Hut (valid on two medium pan pizzas), 25% off on Naturals and 25% off on Faasos. Match Day Mania has caught the imagination of the consumers and has seen a flurry of orders as people logged on to Swiggy to order their match day favorites. Some of the interesting trends witnessed were:

Local favorites have also come onboard Match Day Mania with attractive deals to delight consumers. Instapizza, one of the largest pizza brands in NCR, is giving a 20% discount for all existing users and 25% discount for new users, while Pita Pit in Bangalore is offering 15% off on all orders and 20% off for new user during this period. Naturals Ice-cream is also offering an exclusive deal for the entire campaign, where customers can buy “Buy Two Scoops for 99 Only” across all their stores in India that are on Swiggy.

Commenting on this, Ashwin Jain, Owner, Instapizza said, “Instapizza is excited to be a part of Swiggy’s upcoming T20 cricket season campaign. As the season comes into full swing, we look forward to helping feed hungry cricket fans in and around the NCR region and expect to see Swiggy’s efforts in the campaign contribute towards a great couple of months.”

Swiggy is an associate broadcast sponsor of IPL 2018. Swiggy Match Day Mania began on 7th April 2018. Swiggy will promote the food festival through a 360 campaign across TV, Print, Radio as well as Digital platform during the duration of the IPL, as it aims to reach out to food lovers across India.
