To enhance NIVEA’s position in the Indian market, the organisation has made a strategic move by welcoming Sunil Gadgil back as Marketing Director and appointing Ashish Joshi as the new Sales Director
Gadgil has over 12 years of experience with Beiersdorf in various global and local roles. From 2017 to 2020, he led Beiersdorf’s business in Ukraine, and since November 2020, has served as the Director of the biggest NIVEA category – Body and All-Purpose Cream, gaining valuable marketing experience and expertise in the global skincare market.
After multiple stints across the European region, Gadgil is returning to India with an enriched global profile, making him well-suited to contribute to NIVEA’s success and further strengthen its position as Emerging India’s Most Loved and Trusted Skincare Brand.
Shedding light on his new role, Gadgil, said, “I am thrilled to be returning to NIVEA India, it feels like returning to where it all started. With my prior experience in the region, and my exposure to the global skincare market as Global Marketing Director at Beiersdorf, I am excited to combine the best of both worlds and contribute to the brand’s continued success in India.”
On the other hand, Joshi brings with him an overall experience of 16 years and started his Nivea India journey in 2016. During his tenure thus far, Joshi held senior sales assignments that involved leading multiple channels across the country while providing leadership to large, diverse & cross functional teams. He drove business agendas across the channels and led the digitization journey of the sales organization. His new responsibility as Sales Director is a testament to NIVEA’s philosophy of investing in home-gown talent and fostering an entrepreneurial spirit across the workforce.
On his new role, Joshi said, “Drawing on my extensive and in-depth knowledge of the Sales function, I am eager to bring renewed energy and vigour to the team, and to collaborate closely to achieve our ambitious growth targets. I am confident that, together with our workforce as well as trade partners, we can build on the brand’s strong foundation and drive growth to new heights.”
