New Delhi: India being a multilingual country, is almost like a cluster of many countries into one. People are now looking at being entertained in their own language. Taking a cue from the love Indians have for their mother tongue, today Storytel launched Select Marathi, which will offer listeners the option to opt for content in Marathi language only.
Via Storytel Select Marathi, a customer will be able to choose to listen to content in the Marathi language only. Storytel Unlimited continues to offer titles in all available languages in India. This is the first limited variant of Storytel Unlimited service in the world.
A customer will now have two options while subscribing to Storytel. They can either sign up for a Storytel Unlimited subscription with access to 8 languages at ₹ 299 or sign up for a Storytel Select Marathi catalog only at ₹ 99 per month.
“Since we launched, one of the frequent questions I had to answer in book fairs & informal meetings is why is there no possibility to listen to audiobooks in only the mother tongue of the listener. Following the insight, today, we are launching Storytel Select Marathi which will only have content in the Marathi language. With Select Marathi launching, we aim to take stories to more and more people. This will give users the option to choose limited or full catalog & also switch between them depending on the situation.” said Yogesh Dashrath, Country Manager, Storytel India.
A large team of Storytel employees, situated in multiple countries, worked for months to realize the launch of Storytel Select Marathi.
At the time of release, the Select offering has hundreds of titles in Marathi including a large number of bestsellers like Mrityunjay by Shivaji Sawant & titles by Pu La Deshpande. Storytel also is going to release 200+ titles in the coming months which includes all-time classics like Kosala by Bhalchandra Nemade. In addition, Storytel also has multi-episode Storytel Originals in Marathi releasing regularly.
