Star Sports CEO Gautam Thakar steps down

Mumbai: President and CEO of Star Sports, Gautam Thakar has stepped down from his position. Sanjog Gupta, Executive Vice President of Star TV Network, will be heading the sports division now.

Thakar was appointed as CEO of Star Sports in early 2018. Prior to his stint at Star India, he has held positions like Senior Director, International Marketing at eBay, CEO of shopping.com, vice president and General Manager, eBay Advertising at eBay and President and CEO of Living Social.

He holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, and a Bachelor’s in Commerce from Sydenham College, Mumbai.

Sources are to be believed that Thakar will foray into entrepreneurship and he is likely to move back to the United States.
