Mumbai : International Advertising Association (IAA) has re-elected Srinivasan Swamy (chairman, RK Swamy, Hansa Group) as the president of the body at its annual general body meeting of the India Chapter of IAA held in Mumbai. This will be his third consecutive term. He also serves on the IAA Global Board as vice president – development, IAA Asia Pacific.
Neeraj Roy, MD and CEO, Hungama Digital Media was re-elected as vice president. Monica Tata, MD, HBO will continue as honorary secretary and Jaideep Gandhi, chairman, Jaya Advertising will also continue as treasurer for 2014-15.
The other members elected into the managing committee were, Abhishek Karnani, The Free Press Journal; Vishakha Singh, Aurora Comms; Manish Advani, Mahindra SSG; Janak Sarda, Deshdoot; CVL Srinivas, Group M; Avinash Pandey, ABP News; M V Shreyams Kumar, Mathrubhumi; Partho Dasgupta, BARC; Bhaskar Das, Zee Media and Rajesh Kejriwal, Kyoorius.
Pradeep Guha, Pheroza Bilimoria, Sam Balsara, Kaushik Roy, Raj Nayak, Ramesh Narayan, M G Parameswaran, Neville Taraporewalla, Gayatri Yadav, Anita Nayyar, Pradeep Dwivedi, Anand Sankeshwar, Sunil Lulla and Punitha Arumugam would serve as invited members in the Committee for 2014-15.
“A few more have been invited and their names will be announced after they accept our invitation”, said Swamy.
Swamy, as a part of his speech, listed some events that were organised by IAA India in the past year. These were two IAA Debates, four IAA Conversations, five IAA Mentorship Webinars, six Knowledge Seminars, three IAA Young Turks Forum events, IAA Olive Crown Awards, IAA Leadership Awards, IAA Retrospect and Prospects events in Gurgaon and Mumbai and the recently held IAA Mentorship Programme.
Swamy added, “We have identified at least 20 different platforms to peg our events for the coming year. We have a very good committee and I wouldn’t be surprised if we have more than 52 events during the year.”
The body also celebrates its silver jubilee in 2014-15 about which he commented, “IAA will continue with some of its past branded events and add a few special ones for the year that would make the IAA India Silver Jubilee a memorable one.”
