Chennai: Sony BBC Earth has concluded the fourth edition of its annual photography contest, ‘Earth In Focus’, celebrating India’s vibrant and natural beauty. The contest, themed “One World, Many Frames”, received over 2,000 entries, capturing diverse perspectives under three sub-categories: Markets: A Vibrant Melting Pot, Ancient Marvels, and Wildlife. The proud winners of this year’s contest are Soumayan Biswas, Mukesh Tripathi, and Akshita Jain, who emerged as champions across the respective categories.
Photography is a powerful tool for storytelling, capturing fleeting moments that preserve the essence of our world. Sony BBC Earth’s ‘Earth In Focus’ was created to honor this art, providing a platform for enthusiasts to share extraordinary images that reflect India’s rich cultural and natural heritage.
After careful deliberation, Shivang Mehta, the esteemed photographer and judge of the contest, selected the top three winners:
- Soumayan Biswas for Indian Markets,
- Mukesh Tripathi for Ancient Marvels,
- Akshita Jain for Wildlife.
These winners not only receive the GoPro HERO12 as the grand prize but will also have their captivating work featured on the Sony BBC Earth channel.
In addition to the top three, the top 10 photographers were awarded a unique opportunity to attend an exclusive masterclass hosted by Shivang Mehta, offering valuable insights into the art of photography and how to capture moments that tell meaningful stories.
