The world’s leading advertising and PR group, WPP, has entered into open warfare with its founder and former Chief Executive officer, Sir Martin Sorrell after WPP has refused to pay out his share awards owed over the past five years. WPP alleged that Sorrell, during his tenure as a WPP Director, has leaked confidential information belonging to WPP and certain of its clients to the media.
According to media reports, Sorrell has sought legal advice against his former employee. In response to the allegations made by the former employer, Sorrell described it as a “petty” move driven by anger. “
Sorrell resigned from WPP in 2018 amidst an investigation into allegations of personal misconduct, which Sorrell denies to date.
After he departed from WPP, Sorrell founded S4 Capital Plc, a digital advertising and marketing group. S4 Capital registered a Gross profit of £295.2 million during this financial year.
