Hyderabad: Hyderabad based Media and Digital Entertainment startup Silly Monks announced today the appointment of talented writer, director, Films and Animation Creation professional Soumya Bollapragada as Head of Alternate Content and Animation.
Announcing her appointment Sanjay Reddy Managing Director- SillyMonks Entertainment stated “We are delighted to have Soumya into our bubbly monkey team. It is an exciting phase for SillyMonks and we are confident Soumya will infuse path breaking alternate entertainment content that will engage and entertain kids & our diverse digital content consumers”
Soumya is an English Literature and Psychology student with 17 years of experience in media. She has excelled as an actress in the cult hit “The Angrez” to acting in widely watched films “Chandamama Kathalu” and “Mugguru” besides being Creative Manager for top animated shows like Mighty Raju, Arjun and Chhota Bheem.
Expressing her delight as a new member SillyMonks family Soumya said “I am so excited to be part of incredibly talented SillyMonks team. I have tremendous appreciation for their creative work and I am looking forward to create a series of full fledged animated web series in addition to conceptualising and hosting shows for SillyMonks.”
As a writer for animated shows, Soumya directed a socially shocking short film “I am…SHE!” for which she received lot of appreciation. With a vast experience in publishing, theatre, advertising, this is Soumya’s first major foray into the digital world.
Soumya began her career as a poetess. After which she joined All India Radio’s “Yuvavani” and eventually got into publishing her English monthly magazine “Evoke!” From a successful actor and theatre artist to a production house owner “Applause” Soumya was instrumental in establishing the first corporate film school in association with Ramanaidu Film School in Vizag.
During her tenure with Green Gold Animation, she was the Creative Co-ordinator for Chhota Bheem and Mighty Raju and also conceptualised stories and handled comic writing.
