Polycab India has appointed Shwetal Basu as Senior Vice President and Head of Brand and Marketing. Shwetal, who most recently served as Chief Marketing and Communication Officer at Shoppers Stop, shared her excitement about the new role on LinkedIn, stating, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Sr. Vice President and Head Brand & Marketing at Polycab India Limited!”
With over 20 years of extensive experience in the marketing sector, Shwetal brings a wealth of expertise in marketing strategy, brand management, digital marketing, customer insights, and customer loyalty. Before her tenure at Shoppers Stop, she held the position of Head of Marketing and Visual Merchandising at Metro Brands from 2018 to 2021.
Shwetal’s career also includes significant roles at Aditya Birla Retail Limited, where she contributed to various marketing initiatives from 2012 to 2018. Earlier, she served as Senior Manager of Marketing at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) from 2011 to 2012 and as AVP for Marketing Services at HDFC between 2008 and 2011. Additionally, she has experience in marketing roles at Zicom, TATA Communications, Hutch, and PepsiCo.
Shwetal holds a PGDSM in Sales and Marketing from the National Institute of Sales, further solidifying her qualifications to drive Polycab’s branding and marketing strategies.
Her appointment is expected to enhance Polycab India’s brand presence and marketing efforts as the company continues to expand its footprint in the electrical goods sector. With Shwetal’s leadership, Polycab aims to strengthen its market position and engage customers effectively in a competitive landscape.
