ShortsTV, the first and only global channel dedicated to short films, has been bringing shorts to life that are available around the globe. Intending on promoting Indian short films in international regions, ShortsTV announces its collaboration with Whistling Woods International, India’s leading Film School. ShortsTV is introducing a new segment, Film School Special, that will present top short films made by the students of Whistling Woods International. It aims at providing a bigger platform to budding filmmakers. Some of the best short films screening in this month are BEST DAY, DEATH RUN, KATHAKAAR, and EKAKI.
BEST DAY
This short highlights a special bond between father and daughter. After missing his surprise birthday party, a father tries to win his daughter over by spending a whole day with her at the beach, promising her the best day of her life.
DEATH RUN
This exciting short is centered around Three thugs who pull off a diamond heist. The dice of conceit and treachery are the cast. As the thieves double-cross each other, the question remains who will get away with all the loot?
KATHAKAAR
The versatile actor Piyush Mishra will be seen as an old theatre projectionist in this interesting short. Struggling with what to do with his life, he one day narrates a story and becomes the favorite storyteller in the village.
EKAKI
Set in Mumbai, ‘Ekaki’ is a touching tale of solitude and moving on in life. Watch to see what happens when Sugandha’s life intersects with Junaid’s.
ShortsTV will also air over 100 short films made by filmmakers who participated in the American Film Institute Conservatory’s educational programs thanks to a new licensing agreement made with the film school. Among the titles are short films with big Hollywood stars like “Wild Horses” starring Brooke Shields and Mireille Enos as well as “Interstate” starring Gina Rodriguez.
