Mumbai: Shemaroo Umang is set to captivate television audiences with its latest primetime offering, Badi Haveli Ki Chhoti Thakurain. Premiering tonight, the show will air every Monday to Saturday at 9:00 PM and promises an enthralling mix of tradition, power dynamics, and family intrigue, set against the stunning backdrop of Rajasthan.
The show explores a unique twist on age-old traditions, asking: What happens when the responsibility of the family’s house keys—traditionally handed to the eldest daughter-in-law—is given to the youngest instead? This unexpected shift in power within the family hierarchy sets the stage for a gripping tale of emotions, twists, and transformations.
Produced by the acclaimed writer and producer Raghuvir Shekhawat under his newly launched banner, Natkhat Productions, the show stars Diksha Dhami as Chaina, a lively, kind-hearted village girl who finds herself at the center of a power struggle in a grand haveli. Opposite her is Sheel Verma as Jayveer and Ishita Ganguly as Chamkeeli, the manipulative sister-in-law who challenges Chaina’s position.
Sandeep Gupta, COO of Broadcasting Business at Shemaroo Entertainment, shared his excitement, “Television audiences today expect content that connects with them on an emotional level. At our core, we are committed to delivering stories that resonate deeply, and Badi Haveli Ki Chhoti Thakurain is another step in that direction. This show breaks away from the usual melodrama by introducing strong, contrasting characters that are sure to leave a lasting impression. It also marks our second collaboration with Mr. Raghuvir Shekhawat, whose knack for creating compelling stories has consistently captured the hearts of audiences. We believe this show is perfect for primetime, offering a shared viewing experience that brings families together.”
Raghuvir Shekhawat, Writer and Producer of the show, added, “I’m incredibly proud to present Badi Haveli Ki Chhoti Thakurain, the first television show from my production house, Natkhat Productions. Shemaroo Umang is the perfect platform for this launch, and it holds a special place in my heart, as it’s the beginning of a new chapter for us. With over two decades in the industry, I’ve always focused on understanding the pulse of the Indian audience. While the Saas-Bahu drama has dominated the landscape, the story of Jethani-Devrani has often been a parallel one. With this show, I aim to shed light on a dynamic that many can relate to. I hope the audience embraces this new story as they have appreciated my past work. Badi Haveli Ki Chhoti Thakurain is truly my first ‘baby,’ and I can’t wait for everyone to experience it.”
With a compelling storyline, a stellar cast, and a fresh perspective on family dynamics, Badi Haveli Ki Chhoti Thakurain is set to make a significant mark in the world of Indian family dramas. Don’t miss its premiere on January 27th, 2025, only on Shemaroo Umang.
