Mumbai: Anurag Verma and Shashank Shekhar, senior directors at ShareChat, have decided to step down from their positions, according to media reports. Verma, who brought over three decades of experience in talent acquisition, was previously associated with B2B AI company Uniphore and has worked at Flipkart and Airtel. Shekhar, on the other hand, had a second stint with ShareChat, after founding his own venture, Circle Internet.
According to the reports, Verma and Shekhar would be working on a transition process before their exits in April. According to sources, Shekhar plans to launch a startup after his departure from the company.
The exits come amid other significant changes within ShareChat, including earlier reports about the company laying off 5% of its employees across various verticals. In December 2024, ShareChat also appointed Nitin Jain as its Chief Technology Officer.
Anurag Verma and Shashank Shekhar’s decision to move on marks the end of pivotal leadership roles at ShareChat, a platform known for its innovations in the Indian social media landscape. The company’s transition and evolving leadership will be closely watched as it continues to scale.
