Mumbai : Saregama India, has hired two senior creative people Rajesh Beri and Siddharth Anand to strengthen its television content management team.
Rajesh Beri is well known writer who featured in the Limca Book of Records for writing the maximum number of episodes of any serial and is the only writer in the country to write 1,328 episodes, story, screenplay, dialogues and lyrics for Bhabhi serial produced by UTV.
He has more than 45 serials to his credit, telecast across all major national channels like Star Plus, Sony, DD, and Zee TV, to name a few. Prior to joining Saregama India, Rajesh Beri was associated with UTV’s TV Content Division in which he was handling projects like DOR on Star Plus and Shubh Vivah on Sony Entertainment Television.
Siddharth Anand comes on board with directorial projects like ‘Zinda’ on Sony TV, ‘Hello Pratibha’ on Zee TV, and ‘Shastri Sisters’ on Colors under his belt.
Commenting on the two appointments, Vikram Mehra, MD, Saregama, said, “Saregama is very serious about creating good quality content for television and with Rajesh and Siddharth, two industry veterans, on board we hope to achieve greater highs in the coming time.”
Today, Saregama’s television content business contributes over 35 per cent to the company’s revenue. The company has currently got seven shows on air, with three more slated for launch in the next three months.
Saregama India also has a strong presence in Tamil Television Market with two top rated daily soaps in Sun TV titled Valli and Chandralekha in its afternoon time band and a Socio Fantasy show ‘Bhairavi’ during the weekends and in Nonfiction front they are doing Chellame Chellam, a game show involving the Kids and their parent during the Sunday afternoon time band.
The Operations in Chennai was headed by its Vice President – South TV, BR Vijayalakshmi (aka) BRV, who is associated with Saregama India for more than a decade.
Apparently, she also over sees the Acquisition & Sales (A&S) Business in South, wherein they hold the airtime selling arrangements with many projects produced by Private Producers to Sun TV.
